Ryan Castro’s reggaeton doesn’t move the way most reggaeton moves. It pulls from the dancehall, Afrobeats, and Caribbean rhythms he absorbed during years in Curaçao, layered into the classic Medellín sound he came up on, and when those elements lock in together, the result is something worth chasing down. His Bogotá stadium show on this same tour sold out in under an hour. The Sendé: The Last Dance Tour stops at Place Bell in Laval on Wednesday, September 9.
About the Show
Castro grew up in Medellín’s Pedregal neighborhood, busking on streets and buses at seventeen, stereo in hand, collecting tips to save for studio time. He relocated to Curaçao as a teenager, where he soaked up dancehall and Caribbean sounds that would eventually reframe his music entirely. His breakthrough came in 2017 when “Morena” went viral in Colombia. Since then, the resume has built steadily: opening Karol G’s 2021 Bichota Reloaded Tour, appearing with J Balvin at the 2022 MTV VMAs, landing on Maluma’s 2023 album Don Juan, and scoring a Billboard Hot 100 hit with “Quema” alongside Peso Pluma. His 2024 debut full-length El Cantante del Ghetto was built as an ode to Pedregal, the neighborhood that raised him.
The Sendé era picked up from there. His 2025 albums Sendé and Hopi Sendé leaned hard into dancehall, reggae, and Afrobeats, with Papiamento phrases woven through, and Billboard recognized the result when it named Sendé among its 50 Best Albums of 2025. The album title is a Curaçaoan expression meaning “we’re good” or “we’re vibing.” The record features Shaggy, Manuel Turizo, and Peso Pluma, among others; “La Villa” with Kapo hit No. 1 on the Latin Airplay chart in April 2026. “Seeing how these songs have connected with you has been something very special,” Castro said when announcing additional dates. This is the second North American leg of the Sendé World Tour, following a fall 2025 U.S. run that included Brooklyn’s Barclays Center and the Intuit Dome in Inglewood. Laval is one of the earlier stops before the run moves south and west through October.

Place Bell is in Laval, Quebec, representing the North Country stop on the tour’s North American leg. Doors open at 7:30 p.m.; show starts at 8:30 p.m. The event is all-ages and presented by Fuego Fuego.
