The Central New York circuit has produced more than its share of regional acts that built a loyal Upstate following without ever quite cracking the national touring market. Scars N Stripes, the Syracuse-based arena rock outfit, is one of them — and on Saturday, April 25, they bring the act to The Vine Showroom at del Lago Resort & Casino in Waterloo. At 1,400 capacity, the room is a reasonable match for a band whose reputation runs on physical performance rather than production scale.
About Scars N Stripes
Their catalog draws from the lingua franca of 1980s and ’90s arena rock — Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, Billy Idol, Mötley Crüe, Guns N’ Roses — and they play it without the low-wattage coasting that afflicts too many acts running the same set list in 2026. CNY Alive has described them as delivering “a national level performance reminiscent of the Arena Band era,” which, if even half-accurate, puts them in a different tier than the average bar band working the same material.
The current lineup features Bill Ali on lead vocals — previously with national recording artists Held Hostage — alongside guitarists Jimmy Falco and J Ro, bassist Joel Exline, and drummer Jason Telarico, a Rochester native who has worked upstate stages since his early teens. Falco is a three-time Sammy Award winner who completed three nationwide tours with Fall of Humanity. Exline, whose influences run from John Paul Jones to Geddy Lee, has described his role as the connective tissue between the rhythm section and the rest of the band — a philosophy that distinguishes players who have thought carefully about function from those who simply learned the parts.
The del Lago date arrives just ahead of the band’s 15th anniversary show at Sharkey’s in Liverpool, with a summer calendar running through Vernon Downs, Rivers Casino in Schenectady, and Hotel Canandaigua — a circuit that reflects consistent bookings at the casino and resort tier across the Finger Lakes region and into the broader Upstate market.
The Vine Showroom at del Lago Resort & Casino
The Vine Showroom holds 1,400 and has earned a Gold distinction for Best Night Club in the Finger Lakes — a credential that carries weight in a region where the gap between what a venue claims and what it delivers can be wide. The room is 21 and over only, which tends to concentrate the audience in ways that reward a band expecting its crowd to know the material cold. Box office opens at 4 PM on show nights; ADA seating inquiries to (315) 946-1695.
Tickets & Details
Tickets are priced at approximately $22, available through dellagoresort.com and Ticketmaster. The show is 21 and over — identification required at the door.
