SELIAS describes their sound in three words on their own site — heavy, melodic, unrelenting — and the Toronto five-piece earns all three on KILLKARMA, the album that spent five consecutive months on the U.S. Metal Contraband Radio Top 50 and peaked at #17 in January 2026. They bring that record, a new single, and a rebuilt lineup to Photo City Music Hall in Rochester on Wednesday, November 18.
About the Show
Founded in 2021 by guitarist Steve Elias, SELIAS sits at the intersection of melodic death metal, groove, and modern heaviness, a band recognized for high-energy live performances across Canada and the United States. Sleaszy Rider Records describes their approach as one where “metal meets storytelling, where each song is a chapter in an epic saga of sound and emotion.” Their reference points: In Flames, Soilwork, Killswitch Engage, Lamb of God.
The current five-piece features dual vocalists Neil Rash and Ania Fed alongside Steve Elias, Jeff Hyde, and Daniel Bouwman. Rash delivers a commanding presence blending clean vocals with standout screams; Fed brings brutal guttural screams and constant intensity, cutting through down-tuned instrumentation. Guitarist Elias on the new lineup: “This is a turning point for SELIAS. Neil and Ania bring fire and versatility. We’re building something that hits hard.”
What they’re building toward is Nine Lives, a forthcoming third album described as introducing a heavier overall sound while maintaining the band’s foundational style. They dropped the first preview on October 2 — a single called “Bastard” that channels “anger, despair and inner collapse into a relentless track about struggling to reclaim your identity from the damage left behind.” Fans can expect a fusion of melody and heaviness building on what KILLKARMA established. The band has toured extensively across Canada and the United States developing that balance.
Four support acts complete the bill: Blood Desecration, Bus Stop Abortion, Abhorrent Desolation, and Dying Flesh.
