Since 1995, The Strictly Hip have described their mission in evangelical terms — “spreading the good word of The Tragically Hip’s music far and wide” across a market that has always had more appetite for that catalog than the mainstream would have predicted. More than three decades and over 3,000 performances in, the Buffalo-based five-piece has collected nine Buffalo Music Awards as Top Tribute Band and built what their own materials call a devoted following “in their own right.” The résumé is substantial enough that calling this a tribute act starts to feel like understatement.
About the Show
Strictly Hip returns to Bear’s Den Showroom at Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino for a two-night stand covering Friday, February 26, and Saturday, February 27, 2027, both at 8 p.m. The band formed in St. Catharines, Ontario in 1995, built around the catalog of The Tragically Hip, which the venue describes as Canada’s most acclaimed rock group. They relocated to Buffalo in 1999 and went national in 2003, accumulating what their own materials describe as “nearly four hundred thousand air miles” building an audience across 12 U.S. city markets. Their biography credits them with drawing “record crowds from Lake Ontario to Pennsylvania and points east,” a regional footprint built through years of sustained touring. This is a return engagement; Strictly Hip played the same room in February 2026.
Vocalist Jeremy Hoyle has taken four Buffalo Music Awards as Top Male Rock Vocalist; guitarist Bruce Wojick has won five as Top Original Rock Guitarist. Before going national, the band held an eight-year weekly Sunday residency at Crocodile Bar, the kind of institutional tenure that builds the muscle memory required to sustain a catalog this deep over thousands of performances.
Their materials are unambiguous about what the show is not: “not a campy tribute act but rather a heartfelt, high-energy celebration” of the Tragically Hip’s catalog, described by the band as “the soundtrack of a million camp fires, road trips, and backyard parties” and delivered with what they call “passion, reverence, and respect.” The typical show runs 90 minutes to two hours.

The Bear’s Den Showroom sits inside Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino at 310 4th St. in Niagara Falls, NY, a western New York casino room that draws from both sides of the border and makes geographical sense as a recurring home for a band whose own story begins in Ontario. Show time is 8 p.m.
