Cheekface at Montage Music Hall | September 29, 2026
Cheekface plays Montage Music Hall in downtown Rochester on Tuesday, September 29 — and if you have been sleeping on this LA trio, this is your correction.
About Cheekface
Cheekface formed in Los Angeles in 2017, built around Greg Katz on guitar and vocals, Amanda Tannen on bass, and Mark Edwards on drums. Their reputation runs on a very specific combination: angular guitar, sardonic one-liners, and melodies that stick whether you want them to or not. They have put out a string of records — Therapy Island (2019), Emphatically No. (2021), Too Much to Ask (2022), and It’s Sorted (2024) — that have made them a cult favorite in the indie rock world.
Their latest, Middle Spoon (February 2025), is the most ambitious thing they have made. Harp, violins, and trombone appear alongside the band’s signature guitar-bass-drums setup — a broader sonic palette without losing any of the wit that makes them Cheekface. The Fire Note called it “hilarious, heartfelt, and hook-filled,” and Spectral Nights called it “their most musically adventurous album yet.” 2026 singles “Black Site” and “Hostile Street” suggest the band is not slowing down.
