Here is the first thing you need to know: this one is sold out. The second is that it is worth checking the exchange anyway — The Beths at Higher Ground on a Sunday night in early June is exactly the kind of show that leaves people wishing they had tried harder to score a ticket.
The Auckland four-piece have been one of the best live bands going for years: jangle-pop hooks, Liz Stokes’ lyrics that feel like someone read your journal and put a melody to them, and the kind of tight, precise playing that comes from a band that genuinely loves being on stage together. Rolling Stone called them “one of the greatest indie-rock bands of their time.” Their fourth album, Straight Line Was A Lie — out August 2025 on ANTI- Records — takes on the vertigo of non-linear growth, the strange feeling of doing the work on yourself and still not quite ending up where you expected. Stokes framed it simply: “Linear progression is an illusion. What life really is is maintenance.” That kind of writing sounds even better in a room.
They’ve played Coachella, Newport Folk, and Bonnaroo, and sold out two nights at D.C.’s 9:30 Club in 2025. This Burlington date sits mid-run — coming off the State Theatre in Portland, ME the night before, moving on to Asbury Hall in Buffalo on June 9.
Higher Ground’s Ballroom holds 750 people and sits in South Burlington on Williston Road. It’s one of the North Country‘s most reliable stops on any serious touring run. Doors open at 7:30 PM; if you’re coming up from the I-87 corridor, Burlington is worth building a whole night around. Squirrel Flower opens. All ages.
Tickets: This show is sold out. Official resale is through Tixel; Higher Ground also has a wait-list open at highergroundmusic.com. Tickets were originally $30–$35.
