The Four Horsemen don’t play Metallica the way most tribute acts do, skipping to the crowd favorites, approximating the riffs, letting stage presence carry what the chops can’t. Their standard is more demanding: album-quality, note-for-note, built around Kill ‘Em All, Ride the Lightning, Master of Puppets, and …And Justice For All. On Friday, December 18, they bring that back to Penn’s Peak in Jim Thorpe, with Vulgar Display of Pantera opening the night.
About the Show
Penn’s Peak has hosted The Four Horsemen before, most recently in November 2024, when the band delivered a 22-song set over two and a half hours. Set One ran 10 songs, opening with “For Whom the Bell Tolls” and closing on “One”; Set Two ran 12 songs, opening with “Blackened” and finishing on “Whiplash.” The blueprint hasn’t changed: no theatrical gimmicks, no shortcuts, just Metallica’s catalog delivered with what the band calls “high caliber” precision and “sheer energy.”
Frontman Sean Perry anchors the project. He attended Metallica’s Black Album tour in 1991, and that night became the starting point for everything he built later. He joined the band as vocalist in late 2006 and has since shaped it into what Penn’s Peak’s own event page calls “the only album-quality Metallica experience on the planet.” The core repertoire covers Metallica’s first four studio albums, with selections from the Black Album rounding out the set. Their global management comes from Brian Wheat, bassist and co-founder of the platinum-selling rock band TESLA — a connection that reflects how seriously this project operates in the tribute world.
The December 18 Penn’s Peak date is one of the last stops on the 2026 calendar; the band has already played dates in Texas, Virginia, and Iowa this year. Catching them at a venue they’ve returned to multiple times is its own kind of signal.

Penn’s Peak is in Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania, set in the Pocono Mountains. If you are making the drive from the Hudson Valley, budget some extra time; Jim Thorpe is a destination that rewards arriving early. Doors open at 7:00 p.m., showtime is 8:00 p.m.
