Forty years into a career that has outlasted virtually every trend it ever mocked, “Weird Al” Yankovic brings the Bigger & Weirder 2026 Tour to Empower FCU Amphitheater at Lakeview in Syracuse on Friday, July 10. If the 2025 leg is any guide — 75 shows, more than 500,000 attendees, a debut at Madison Square Garden — the demand for this particular strain of American comedy has not softened.

About Weird Al Yankovic

It is worth pausing on what Yankovic has actually built. A five-time Grammy Award winner who has spent decades crafting parodies of the biggest songs on the radio — Madonna, Michael Jackson, Taylor Swift, Queen, among others, always with the original artist’s blessing — he has outlasted the careers of many of the acts he lampooned. He hasn’t released a standard parody in over 11 years, a fact that might unsettle fans who discovered him through radio hits, but has done nothing to diminish the live show. Yankovic himself seems unbothered: “We did 75 shows this year, and the fans weren’t sick of us yet, so we’re just going to keep on touring until they are!”

The 2026 run spans 90 dates across North America — from Miami in late May through Milwaukee in mid-October — and the Syracuse stop falls in the summer heart of the tour. The live production is, by any measure, the point: an expanded eight-piece band that includes Probyn Gregory, a longtime collaborator of Brian Wilson, performs behind Yankovic through a full-production multimedia show, with signature hits like “Amish Paradise,” “Fat,” and “White & Nerdy” woven through multiple costume changes that have long anchored the theatrical presentation.

Opening the evening is Puddles Pity Party — a 7-foot sad clown whose vocal performances have drawn genuine critical attention. The New York Times described a “textured voice laced with melancholy.” An unconventional match for a comedy rock headliner, but one that has proven itself on this tour.
