If you are heading to Buffalo State PAC this spring, here is the rundown: ninety minutes, no script, four of the sharpest improvisers working today, and the audience helps run the whole show. Ryan Stiles, Greg Proops, Jeff B. Davis, and Joel Murray are at Rockwell Hall on Sunday, April 18, 2027 at 7:30 PM — and improv at this level has a way of surprising even the skeptics in the room.
About Whose Live Anyway?
The format goes back further than you might think. Whose Line Is It Anyway? started as a British radio programme in 1988, moved to UK television, landed on ABC in 1998, and returned on The CW in 2013 hosted by Aisha Tyler. The touring company is now 43-plus dates into a North American run through 2027, playing performing arts centers across the continent.
The cast: Ryan Stiles (The Drew Carey Show, Two and a Half Men); Greg Proops, known for sharp wit and voice work in The Nightmare Before Christmas and Star Wars: Episode I; Jeff B. Davis, who handles musical improvisation and impressions of Christopher Walken and Jeff Goldblum; and Joel Murray — youngest of the nine Murray brothers, including Bill Murray, and known for playing Freddy Rumsen on Mad Men and Eddie Jackson on Shameless. Musical direction by Laura Hall.
The show runs signature improv games from the TV years — Scenes from a Hat, Hoedown, Questions Only — all driven by audience suggestions. Attendees may be invited onstage. All ages welcome; expect some PG-13 language.
