The catalog they’re working from was never built to be reproduced with a capable vocalist and a working rhythm section — it required production in the fullest sense: operatic dynamics, elaborate staging, costume changes functioning as dramatic beats rather than wardrobe breaks. In the years since Meat Loaf’s death in January 2022, that kind of commitment to the material is harder to find, and the case for seeking it out has gotten stronger.

Led by John Doboe, All Revved Up arrives with a full apparatus: props, stage design, choreography, and multiple costume changes built to recreate the theatrical rock spectacle the original artist made his career on. The band’s own framing is unhedged: “the look, the sound, and the show,” with a promise of operatic vocals and a recreation of “the towering stage presence” of the original performer. That language tracks with what Meat Loaf’s live show actually demanded — this was music designed for production, not reproduction on the cheap. The ensemble is eight pieces on stage, not a lead singer over a house backing band, and that distinction matters for a catalog built to fill rooms with a full theatrical apparatus.
The touring record behind those claims is substantial. Since forming in 2013, All Revved Up has worked casino stages at Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun, played New York City showcases at BB Kings and 54 Below, and appeared at the Jones Beach Bandshell and The Stone Pony in Asbury Park, a circuit spanning legitimate performing arts centers, regional theaters, and outdoor festival stages across New York, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and into Canada. The Riviera Theatre has hosted them before, which means neither the act nor the room is going in cold.
