Caskets write songs about the things you don’t say out loud, then play them loud enough to feel it in your chest. The Only Heaven You’ll Know, their third album, is vocalist Matt Flood going further than he has before — faith struggles, past addictions, experiences he says he has never shared publicly, including with his own mother. Working seven or eight years with the same bandmates made the honesty possible; finding the courage to record it was the harder part. The music doesn’t flinch: “Lost In The Violence” opens on pop synths, “Sacrifice” builds from ambient into heavy guitar work, and “What Have I Become” takes an angle you won’t see coming. Kerrang gave it 4/5.
About the Show
The Leeds post-hardcore band started as Captives in 2018, changed their name to Caskets in 2021 after a legal dispute with an Australian punk group, and spent the years since building a steady North American presence: festival appearances at Life’s A Beach, tours with We Came As Romans, and dates with ERRA and Currents in 2026. This run is bigger: a 31-date headlining stretch across the continent, February 2 through March 10, 2027, with Nerv and Point North supporting on all dates.
Three albums deep, Caskets have refined a sound that sits at the intersection of post-hardcore and alt-metal, melodic enough to earn mainstream attention and heavy enough to hold up in a club. Flood described the approach behind the latest record as intentional: “I wanted to incorporate more genres or aspects of music that we all love as individuals in the band growing up.” Lead guitarist Benjamin Wilson’s interest in ’80s synths shapes the pop-leaning passages; the heavier dynamics hold the structure together. The Only Heaven You’ll Know, out November 7, 2025 on SharpTone Records, is the record behind this tour. Albany is one of 31 stops on a run that stretches from Tampa to Seattle, hitting New York, Philadelphia, Chicago, Denver, and beyond.
