Albany has a short list of rooms where a standing-room show actually feels like a standing-room show — where the floor is tight enough that the energy lands, and the sound has nowhere to hide. Empire Live, a 1,000-capacity venue on N. Pearl Street, is near the top of that list. Dashboard Confessional headlines there on Tuesday, August 11, with GLOM opening. About Dashboard Confessional
Chris Carrabba built Dashboard Confessional into one of the defining voices of emo in the early 2000s — acoustic guitar, gut-punch lyrics, the kind of chorus that made general admission floors erupt. The 2003 album A Mark, A Mission, A Brand, A Scar was the major breakout; three gold records followed over the band’s career. They came back in 2022 with their ninth studio album, All the Truth That I Can Tell — an acoustic-driven return produced by James Paul Weiser, shaped partly by Carrabba surviving a severe motorcycle accident in June 2020 and having to relearn guitar. That context follows you through the album.
The band has been touring steadily since: Lollapalooza in 2022, a co-headline run with Counting Crows in 2023, a summer 2025 run with the Goo Goo Dolls. This summer they are also supporting The Fray on a 20-plus date amphitheater tour — which makes this headlining night at Empire Live the more personal side of their 2026 calendar.
