For a certain generation of rock fan, Pearl Jam is not merely a band but a fixed point — the group that made grunge feel personal, that turned arena shows into communal confessions. Given to Fly – The Pearl Jam Experience has spent more than a decade understanding exactly what that means to an audience, and this July they bring the Five Horizons Tour to The Vine Showroom at del Lago Resort & Casino in Waterloo, NY on Friday, July 10.

Founded in New York in 2014, Given to Fly built its reputation close to home before expanding nationally — a trajectory that, in tribute band terms, is the harder path. Capital Region audiences know their Pearl Jam, and the group earned its standing the deliberate way: voted #1 tribute band in the Capital Region of Upstate New York, a designation that carries real weight when you consider the room they were playing to.
That recognition eventually reached the source. Pearl Jam promoted Given to Fly through their official social media channels, including paid advertising — an acknowledgment that almost no tribute act ever receives — and the band was hired to perform at the premiere of Pearl Jam’s documentary Let’s Play Two. Those are verifiable milestones, not press release gloss.
The engine of the band is frontman Bob Donahue, a professional vocal coach with a music business degree whose baritone lands consistently in Vedder’s register. Saratoga Living Magazine assessed him plainly: “listen to Bob Donahue’s pitch-perfect Eddie Vedder and the band’s dual guitar attack — carbon copies of Stone Gossard and Mike McCready, respectively — and you’d swear you were in a Seattle club in the early ’90s.” Around him, the lineup includes Will Michael on bass (a veteran of the Sunset Strip circuit), Chris Anastasio on lead guitar (an East Coast touring musician endorsed by Ugly Amps and Ron Procopio Guitars), Rui Pinto on drums (conservatory-trained in Lisbon, with over a decade of touring before relocating to the US), and Zack Grehl on rhythm guitar, who recently completed a nine-year cruise ship performance contract — arguably the most demanding continuous rehearsal schedule in popular music. The set spans Pearl Jam’s classic catalog, deep cuts, and newer material.
The Five Horizons Tour is a substantial 2026 run covering more than ten states from Florida north through Connecticut, with New York among the confirmed stops.
