The Princess Proms Concert arrives at the Palace Theatre this March as part of a 40-plus-city North American tour, the show’s first sustained American run after sold-out performances across the United Kingdom and Europe in 2025. What began as a UK theatrical event built around animated-film soundtracks has expanded quickly into a global touring production: organized by EV Productions/Mega-Events, it has assembled performers with West End and Broadway credentials into a live concert format designed to work for families the way major rock tours work for adults — as a full event, not just a playlist.
About the Show
The repertoire is deliberately broad, drawing from Frozen, Wicked, Moana, The Wizard of Oz, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, The Little Mermaid, The Lion King, Anastasia, and Pocahontas, with additional selections from Taylor Swift, Coldplay, Rachel Platten, and a K-pop segment via KPOP Demon Hunters. Cast members carry West End, ITV, and royal performance credentials and deliver live singing alongside full choreography and high-production lighting effects. The format incorporates direct audience engagement throughout: singalong portions and princess-audience interactive moments that keep younger attendees involved while the production’s scale gives the rest of the room something to watch. Press coverage of other North American dates has cited the performers’ vocal quality and choreography as standouts.
The show’s organizers describe their mission as delivering “extraordinary and uplifting entertainment experiences for all ages,” a framing the touring footprint backs up. Sold-out UK and EU dates in 2025 expanded into a 40-plus-city North American run, with a Canadian launch planned to follow. Running time on the North American leg has been approximately two hours and 15 minutes. The Albany date sits within a New York State swing that also includes stops in Buffalo and Binghamton. The production operates independently of the studios, composers, and rights holders whose catalogs it draws from.
Venue & Logistics
The Palace Theatre on Clinton Avenue is one of the Capital Region’s most natural homes for a touring theatrical production, a room built for the kind of staging this show travels with: a proper proscenium stage, professional lighting infrastructure, a house designed around performance rather than reconfigured for it. The March 31 show is a matinee, beginning at 3:30 p.m.
