Thurston Howell – A Premier Yacht Rock Spectacular! is a six-piece ensemble out of Charlotte, NC, built around one unapologetic premise: “You Can’t Fake SMOOTH!” The band pulls from 75-plus songs deep in the 70s and 80s soft rock catalog — Toto, Michael McDonald, Hall & Oates, Steely Dan, Christopher Cross, Kenny Loggins, Fleetwood Mac, and Little River Band among them. Their lineup commits to the bit completely: Capt. J.P. ‘Silky’ Lents on keys and vocals, Cam Love on guitar, Leona Love on percussion, Jasper Tenpenny on bass, Phineas Wigglesworth IX on drums, and Dr. Artemis Thatch on saxophone. This is not a background-music situation — these are six people who have genuinely dedicated themselves to the smooth side of the era, and it shows.

About the Venue

Daryl’s House is one of the more interesting rooms in the Hudson Valley. Founded by Daryl Hall — Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, the Hall in Hall & Oates — and inspired by his long-running web series “Live from Daryl’s House,” the club on NY-22 in Pawling pairs full-service dining (steaks, seafood, pasta) with live music in a room where the acoustics and sightlines are legitimately good from nearly every seat. Doors open at 5:00 PM with the show at 7:00 PM, which means you have time to eat before the music starts. Plan accordingly.
