Warren Haynes at Kleinhans Music Hall | April 1, 2027

By Marc Delacroix · November 7, 2026

Warren Haynes has spent decades building one of the most consequential catalogs in American rock: Allman Brothers Band, Gov’t Mule, the Grateful Dead universe, and a solo career running underneath all of it. The Grammy-winning guitarist is now doing something genuinely unusual with that material, handing it to symphony orchestras. His Dreams & Songs Symphonic Experience tour arrives at Kleinhans Music Hall on Thursday, April 1, with the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra as his collaborators for the final date of the spring run.

About the Show

The production began as a 2019 debut in Asheville, North Carolina (Haynes’ hometown), where he performed with the 64-piece Asheville Symphony Orchestra at Thomas Wolfe Auditorium over two nights. Those performances became Dreams & Songs: A Symphonic Journey, a 16-track live album released in September 2026, co-produced by Don Was and Haynes and mixed by Bob Clearmountain. Haynes, who joined the Allman Brothers Band in 1989 and co-founded Gov’t Mule with bassist Allen Woody in 1997, has built a career on collaborative improvisation across multiple bands and contexts; this project treats all of that material as a single body of work. The touring version pairs his all-star band with each city’s resident symphony orchestra, conducted throughout by Rich Daniels of Chicago’s City Lights Orchestra. For the spring 2027 dates, Kevin Scott is on bass, John Medeski on organ and keys, Jeff Sipe on drums, Greg Osby on saxophone, and Edwin McCain and Jasmine Muhammad on background vocals. The repertoire spans Gov’t Mule, the Allman Brothers Band, the Grateful Dead, and Haynes’ solo catalog, all reimagined with orchestral arrangements. As Haynes has put it: “When these opportunities exist, it would be shameful to not take advantage of them… I’ve been very lucky to pull my audience with me on all these different things.”

Venue & Logistics

Kleinhans Music Hall, the permanent home of the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra, sits at 3 Symphony Circle in Buffalo. Having the BPO in its own hall for this booking is not incidental: it puts the orchestra on familiar ground for a show that asks quite a lot of an ensemble steeped in classical repertoire. The western New York date is the tour’s final stop, closing a spring run that began March 7 in Atlanta and also took in Nashville (two nights) and Pittsburgh.
