It Dies Today at Rec Room | November 7, 2026

By Marc Delacroix · October 12, 2026

Twenty years after the acclaimed Sirens arrived on Trustkill Records, It Dies Today brings the anniversary home to Buffalo. The November 7 show at Rec Room is a dual milestone event (25 years as a band, two decades since the record), and it carries an additional layer of ceremony: outgoing drummer John Runkle and returning original drummer Nick Mirusso will both perform, splitting duties in a transition that will play out in real time, in front of everyone in the room.

About the Show

It Dies Today formed in Buffalo in 2001, went on hiatus in 2010, mounted a brief reunion from 2012 to 2015, and re-emerged at Furnace Fest in fall 2023, their first show since 2014. The band has been actively performing since, releasing new material including the single “Buried By Black Clouds.” Sirens, released October 17, 2006 on Trustkill Records, is the album the November 7 event most explicitly celebrates; the show’s other marker, 25 years as a band, arrives in a year also defined by a significant lineup change. Runkle, who has been involved with the band for 17 years, described the handoff as “equal parts happy and sad,” noting that “Nick brings an intangible to the sound of this band that he, and only he has.” Mirusso, stepping back in as permanent drummer, said returning “feels a little surreal.” Both will perform on November 7. Supporting are All Out War, a Newburgh, NY extreme metal and hardcore act formed in 1991 whose most recent studio album is Celestial Rot (2023). Their own Bandcamp describes the music as fusing “the speed and brutality of extreme metal with the ferocious attack of hardcore”; their inaugural show at a Hudson Valley skate park in Newburgh ended with police intervening in a riot. Also on the bill: Gemstar, Sicksense, Autoignition, and Jeweltone. Promoted by After Dark Presents.
