Nylon-string guitar and charango are not an obvious pairing. The former traces through the Spanish classical tradition; the latter, a small Andean instrument with a register and brightness all its own, pulls in a different direction entirely. That Hermanos Gutiérrez — brothers Estevan and Alejandro Gutiérrez, Swiss-born with Ecuadorian roots — built seven albums on that specific conversation since forming in 2015 is itself an argument about where acoustic music can still go.
About the Show
The Laval date is a stop on the Los Ojos Del Cóndor Tour, a 12-city North American run arriving after an extended European leg that runs from November 2026 through March 2027. The tour supports Los Ojos Del Cóndor, the duo’s seventh studio album, released September 25, 2026, on Easy Eye Sound, produced by Dan Auerbach of The Black Keys, and debuted at No. 4 on Billboard’s World Albums chart. Alejandro describes the 10-track record as “a love letter to South America. What we want to do with this record is to invite people to come on another journey.” The music draws from 1950s Latin American sound and the wide-sky cinematic language of Sergio Leone films, with the brothers blending nylon guitar (the instrument their father gave Estevan at age eight) and charango alongside lap steel to merge acoustic and electric textures. The collaborations already on record — Jack Johnson on “Hold On To The Light” (performed on Jimmy Kimmel Live in December 2025) and Leon Bridges on “Elegantly Wasted” — suggest a range of sympathies that cuts across genre lines. No supporting acts are announced for the tour.
Venue & Logistics
Place Bell, a 10,172-capacity arena in Laval, Quebec, sits within reach of north-country audiences crossing the border from northern New York. Sources note this date marks the duo’s first arena performance at Place Bell, a notable scale for an act whose instrumental work has historically found its home in smaller rooms. The May run also takes them to Radio City Music Hall in New York on May 15, the duo’s first-ever performance there. Showtime is 8 p.m.
