Sisters of Sabbath don’t traffic in subtlety — and neither do the artists whose catalog they’ve made their focus. The all-female Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath tribute act out of Syracuse plays Montage Music Hall in Rochester on Saturday, September 19.
About the Show
The case for a Black Sabbath and Ozzy Osbourne tribute doesn’t need much building. Between them, Sabbath and Ozzy assembled much of the structural vocabulary for hard rock — the low-end riffs, the theatricality, the willingness to treat heaviness as something more than volume. That is a catalog that rewards serious players, and it is the one Sisters of Sabbath has built an act around.
The band is based in Syracuse and has been building a presence in the Rochester market through 2026. This past July, they headlined Photo City Music Hall on a double-tribute bill with Mothership, a Led Zeppelin tribute act. Two Rochester-area headlining dates in a matter of months points to a band finding traction in this market. No support act has been announced for September 19, which means Sisters of Sabbath carries the full evening.
The all-female lineup isn’t incidental; it’s the premise. The Sabbath and Ozzy catalog, for all its association with a particular brand of rock mythology, belongs to anyone willing to play it with conviction. Sisters of Sabbath makes that point by showing up and doing the work.
