Taylor Tomlinson at Kodak Center | May 15, 2027

By Meg Andersen · September 16, 2026

Taylor Tomlinson has spent 16 years earning the right to be this direct — she does not soften the material or hedge around the uncomfortable parts. Four Netflix specials deep, a run hosting CBS’s After Midnight under her belt, and now bringing her stand-up tour “Nobody Asked You To Do That” to Kodak Center in Rochester on Saturday, May 15.

About the Show

“Nobody Asked You To Do That” is a 22-city first leg opening in Spokane in February 2027 and finishing in Cincinnati in late May. Rochester is stop 20 of 22 — near the end of the run, when the material has had time to settle and the set has been shaped by two months of real crowds.

Tomlinson’s comedy draws from personal experience with family, faith, relationships, and mental health. Press materials describe her approach as combining “cutting self-awareness with refreshing vulnerability,” and that runs through four Netflix specials she released before turning 32: Quarter-Life Crisis, Look At You, Have It All, and Prodigal Daughter. She hosted CBS’s After Midnight as the youngest network late-night host by approximately two decades and the only woman in that role at the time. She is a Forbes 30 Under 30 and TIME100 Next honoree, with coverage from Rolling Stone, Variety, The Hollywood Reporter, and The New York Times.

Her debut book, Actually, Nevermind, releases September 22, 2026, through Gallery Books — a collection of humorous autobiographical essays about adulthood and the things she has reconsidered. The timing drops it squarely in the on-sale window for the tour, which fits: the book and the stand-up cover the same ground, the kind of candid self-examination that reads as honest rather than overshared.

Venue & Logistics

Kodak Center is a 2,400-capacity theater on West Ridge Road in Rochester, well matched to a comedian who has outgrown club stages without needing arena distance between herself and the crowd. For anyone coming from elsewhere in the Finger Lakes region — Syracuse, Ithaca, Buffalo — this is a straightforward Saturday drive. Showtime is 7:00 p.m.
