Albany’s Brick by Brick bring their brand of skull-cracking metallic hardcore to Montage Music Hall in Rochester on Thursday, June 4 — and if you have been sleeping on this band, it is time to wake up. Doors at 7 pm. Age restriction is 16 and up.
About Brick by Brick
Brick by Brick have been rooted in the New York hardcore scene since 2004, born out of Troy’s heavy music community and sharpening their attack seriously since 2015. The current lineup — Ray Mazzola on vocals, Mike Valente on guitars, Andy Parsons on bass, and Jeff Facci on drums — pulls from a wide net of influences: Slayer, Agnostic Front, Black Sabbath, Sick of It All. The result is a hybrid sound that sits somewhere between beatdown hardcore and straight-up metal, and it hits accordingly.
Their 2025 release Collapse — produced by Joey Z of Life of Agony on Upstate Records — is five tracks of precision brutality, including a White Zombie cover (“Thunder Kiss ’65”) that somehow fits perfectly in context. Guitarist Mike Valente called the production a masterpiece. He is not wrong.
The band has earned their road time: European tours alongside Slapshot, Madball, and Iron Reagan; appearances at Black n Blue Bowl, Tsunami Fest, and New England Metal and Hardcore Fest. This Rochester date is a warm-up before their Milwaukee Metal Fest debut later in June and a two-week European run with Hoods starting at the end of July. They arrive here with momentum.
Supporting the bill: Deep Distain, Torrent, and With Teeth.
Venue: Montage Music Hall
