Guitars & Stars has always run on a spare premise: five artists, one stage, acoustic music, and the stories behind the songs. On Wednesday, November 11, WBEE’s recurring Rochester series returns to West Herr Auditorium Theatre with a lineup that draws from across the current country and Americana spectrum — hosted by The Band Perry and built around four performers at genuinely different points in their careers.
About the Show
Guitars & Stars has made multiple stops at West Herr, reassembling its format around a new cast each time; the May 2026 edition brought Nate Smith, Ashley Cooke, and Aaron Watson, among others. For November, The Band Perry takes the host role. The multiple Grammy Award-winning group, known for the 9x Platinum “If I Die Young,” is back to full touring with their 2026 Psycho Rodeo Tour after a long hiatus. The format positions them as facilitators rather than headliners, consistent with the series’ collaborative spirit: the focus is on each artist telling the story, not competing to close the show.
Kameron Marlowe, signed to Columbia Nashville and a former NBC’s The Voice contestant, earned his first Hot Country Songs chart entry with the 2026 single “No Need for Leavin’” and brings a voice-forward country style rooted in years singing in church choir in Kannapolis, North Carolina. Charles Wesley Godwin is a West Virginia singer-songwriter whose Appalachian perspective puts him in conversation with Tyler Childers and Sturgill Simpson; his forthcoming fourth album, Christian Name, features lead single “Better That Way” with Luke Combs. McCoy Moore made his Grand Ole Opry debut in May 2026, days after his debut album Sunshine State arrived on Sony Music Nashville, a steel-guitar-inflected record built on his Florida upbringing. Atlus (Sean Haywood), Denver-born and Nashville-based, released Art of Letting Go in March 2026 and has crossed a billion on-demand streams on his way to being named one of Pandora’s 2026 Artists to Watch in Country. The evening benefits the Ronald McDonald House of Rochester.
Venue & Logistics
West Herr Auditorium Theatre is at 885 East Main Street in Rochester, part of the Finger Lakes performing arts calendar operated by the Rochester Broadway Theatre League. At 2,464 seats, it is a larger room than an acoustic storytelling series might suggest, but Guitars & Stars has found its audience here across multiple editions and the format’s intimacy tends to hold at scale. Showtime is 7:30 p.m.
