If Pentagram has been on your list — if you have been meaning to catch them, waiting for the right time — this is the last call. The Last Rites Tour is a genuine farewell run, and Rochester is one of the few Northeast stops on the schedule.
About Pentagram
Founded in Virginia in 1971, Pentagram are considered one of the big four of doom metal — alongside Candlemass, Saint Vitus, and Trouble — though frontman Bobby Liebling has long preferred calling the band’s sound heavy hard rock. Either way, their influence on American heavy music is undeniable, and comparisons to Black Sabbath have followed them for over five decades. In 2025 they released their tenth album, capping a career that now spans more than 50 years.
The tour runs April 26 through May 31 and the band has been straight about the stakes: this is a genuine farewell — the very last chance to see them live. Tonight’s show brings Today Is the Day as support, touring behind their fourteenth album, Never Give In.
The Venue
Montage Music Hall is at 55 Chestnut St in downtown Rochester, in the heart of the Rochester / Finger Lakes region. For a farewell night from a band that helped define American doom metal, this is the kind of show you want to be in the room for.
