About Texas Hippie Coalition

Texas Hippie Coalition formed in 2008 in Denison, Texas, and they have been road-testing their self-described “Red Dirt Metal” ever since. That is their own term for a sound that lives in the overlap between Southern rock and heavy metal — big riffs, big hooks, and the energy of a Panhandle bonfire that got completely out of hand. They call themselves bikers, outlaws, troubadours, and hellraisers, and the music backs it up.

Vocalist Big Dad Ritch fronts the band alongside guitarists Corban Vincent and Nevada Romo, bassist Rado Romo, and drummer JoEY Mandigo. Their catalog runs through Pride of Texas, Ride On, Dark Side of Black, and 2023’s The Name Lives On. Most recently, they dropped “Just Like Johnny Cash” in September 2025. The comparisons people reach for — Molly Hatchet, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Black Stone Cherry, Corrosion of Conformity — will get you in the ballpark, but this band earns its own lane live.

The Venue

Montage Music Hall is in Rochester’s East End neighborhood, right in the heart of downtown Rochester. It is a club-size room that rewards you for showing up early and getting close — at around 400 capacity, there is not a bad place to stand, and a band like THC will make good use of every square foot.
