Buffalo RiverWorks sits right on the Buffalo River, off Ganson Street in what used to be pure industrial territory — and it’s exactly the kind of venue that rewards you for making the drive to the waterfront. A 3,000-capacity multi-use complex, it’s one of the bigger rooms in Western New York, and for a band like Alter Bridge, that scale fits.
The Florida hard rock quartet is coming through on the second leg of their What Lies Within Tour, and Buffalo is the third stop on an 18-date fall run that cuts across the country through early December. This is not a band coasting on nostalgia. Twenty-two years after their debut, One Day Remains, Alter Bridge dropped their self-titled eighth studio album on January 9, 2026 — and by most accounts, it sounds like a band that still has something to prove.
Myles Kennedy (vocals, guitars), Mark Tremonti (guitars, vocals), Brian Marshall (bass), and Scott Phillips (drums) each spent their off-time in other projects — Tremonti, Marshall, and Phillips rejoined Creed; Kennedy kept his solo career going — and then came back together with what Kerrang called “renewed conviction.” The self-titled record, produced by Michael “Elvis” Baskette at 5150 Studios in California and his Florida studio, earned a 4/5 from Kerrang: “power, emotion and top-level writing,” with Kennedy’s vocals praised for having “pointed emotion.” They’re bringing new songs like “Silent Divide,” “Scales Are Falling,” and “What Lies Within” alongside a 22-year-deep catalog.
Support comes from Big Wreck (Canadian rock outfit) and Tim Montana (rising outlaw rocker). Three full bands on a Sunday night at a waterfront venue is worth the drive from anywhere in the region.
